Bright Young Thing
Knowing that I have a great (aka geeky) love of really old and interesting books, and a relative fondness for baking, my dear Gran gave me this beauty of which she found in a corner of my Great Aunt’s kitchen.
That’s another reason I love the countryside: plenty of elderly people unappreciative of how cool some of their stuff is, so are willing to give it away for near to nothing.
How fantastically cool is this book? “Very” I hear you cry, and you would be correct! I have not been able to give it a thorough study as of yet.  However, with recipes for wartime dishes such as ‘Sheep’s Head Broth’ and ‘Salmon Pudding’ how could it not be an awesome read?
Now, where does one find a sheep’s head?… To Tesco!
